I am Walter Burks. I was born and grew up in Gastonia, NC. It is a great town that is only about 20 minutes from Charlotte, NC. I go to school at East Carolina University, which is were I live during the school year. It is located in Greenville, NC. I have been playing piano for almost 15 years now and singing for about 6 years. Playing piano and singing is really what my passion is. I created this site originally to help promote the CD my parents helped me make. Now I am using it to not only promote the CD but to do a weekly blog. Every week I record and post up one or more new songs. I hope you enjoy the site, come back again! If you would like to turn off the music to hear the other songs on the blog, the music player is located at the bottom of the page.
This week’s song is a really cool one that I learned while I was away at school this year in Greenville, NC. I really like this song. It is really fun to play on piano.
I also got some new recording stuff this week that I will post about the next time. Hope you like it!
Don’t forget you can turn off the music at the bottom of the page by clicking pause.

I hope you all like the new site that Heather designed, it is awesome, I love it. For this week I am posting up a video of some music that we played at Bethany Baptist Church this past Sunday. The first song on the video is my favorite song to play right now, it is called “Our Father”. I had never heard it sung like this before until I went to summer camp a few years ago and the worship leader sang it for us. It is awesome. We had a lot of fun playing on Sunday. Heather Garland and Kelsey Burks, my sister, played guitar, Andy Blake played drums, Mike Barfield was on electric guitar, and people singing were Victoria Burks, my other sister, Kelsey, and me.
The other songs on the video are “Honestly” and “True Love”.
Bethany just got their new website up this week also, Heather designed it, go by and check it out also at bbcgastonia.com. See ya!
Also…To stop the music from playing go to the bottom of the page and click pause!
Heather decided a few days ago that she wanted to redo my website, so she has been working on that the past few days and it is now finished. I really like it. She added a new flash header to the top of the site so I can added all kinds of different pictures to it and even video if I wanted to.
At the bottom of the page there is a music player that four different songs on it that play one after another, thats really cool to. I am also going to work on creating a music page were all the music I have recorded will be posted so that we don’t have to look through all of my blogs just to hear one song.
I also have a new logo that Heather created for me to use, I really like it to!
I am glad you stopped by to see the new site, explore around. I hope you like it as much as I do! Thanks Heather!
